Love in Amsterdam

Love in Amsterdam

In this day and age where everything is asap, where we guard our individuality so carefully, behind our identities and screens... Love still smashes right through us, easily, making us beggars and idiots. We are broken-hearted in love. Broken hearted out of love. Longing for another, or longing just to be able to feel our own heart open and alive throughout the day.

on soulmates

A soulmate is more than someone we meet and fall in love with; he or she is the person who shows us where our own love was all along. In their voice, in their touch, we sense their deepest acceptance of us, and this allows us to fall in love with every part of ourselves, even our darkest places. And in doing this, he or she reminds us of our bright, vibrant love which bursts forward for life, for everything. It is our soulmate who brings us face to face with the vastness of love itself, who teaches us how to swim in love's ocean.

Infinite Warfare

Infinite Warfare

...had to pick up this drink cos it had a special offer saying INFINITE WARFARE on it. Just something that is really resonating for me at the moment, the constant struggle of Life, it is literally Infinite Warfare. New situations, people struggling with me, me having to expand into new and painful areas. How to drive life powerfully forward while remaining in integrity. How to be fearless yet soft. There is always burning of old habits, fear, grieving, fresh conflict for our own personal Infinite Warfare...

On being a bird

On being a bird

...imagine being a bird, but for some reason you don't know about flying. So you and all the other birds you know, live walking around on the ground. Everything is very very difficult. Constant struggle and survival. And, in this walking bird world, the sky is grey, overcast, cloudy all the time.

Now one day, you happen to look up, and peeking out from behind the clouds, is a bit of clear bright blue sky. You have never seen this before, and you are mesmerised... you keep looking up at the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of this unexplainable bright peace, which you sometimes do. This is like when people start meditating...

The card game of relationship

The card game of relationship

Relationship can be a bit like a game of cards. There is the art of sussing out what cards the other person has. Then there is power and bluffing, like poker, trying to make the other person think we've got a great hand. Or maybe it's like bridge, we partner someone, and try to make a strategy together for the future. We have all these cards, and we have these ideas of how to use them to get points, make tricks, to "win". We hold our high cards proudly, so they don't get wasted. Or maybe we sit, holding some junk that we hope will become a royal straight flush. We drop hints about our cards to the others, but we never show them. We get stressed when it looks like we're gonna lose, and gleeful when we get points.

McDonalds and the Nature of Mind

McDonalds and the Nature of Mind

When you sit in McDonalds a long time you really get a feel of the unchanging nature of the raw material of consciousness. A lot of stuff can happen in a McDonalds, but the space remains unchanged, it wipes clean, the staff return to their robotic duties and it's like nothing ever happened. The nature of mind is just like this. Your head can be full of crazy shit, then the next second, completely different.
